The Experience of Yesterday: A Vision for Tomorrow

Having thought very hard as to what I wanted to do for Hillel in my last year at BU, I came to only one conclusion: I could best serve Hillel by becoming Secretary. Having served as Secretary in 2003, I am confident that I am quite qualified for the job. When I was secretary, the bulletin boards were regularly updated, the minutes were kept, and, and people were well informed about what was going on at Hillel. As we move into a new building and a new era in Hillel’s history, I would like to be there working with the student board to make sure that the Hillel population is kept well informed, and to ensure that the secretary’s job is done.
If elected secretary again, I will take the skills that I learned and used in my first administration and apply them to the second. I plan on keeping accurate minutes and posting them in the Hillel Lounge on the bulletin boards for everyone to see. In addition, I plan on creating a digest of what the board did and emailing it to all the Hillel members to keep them informed. In addition, I will restart placing a large calendar on one the bulletin boards, which shows people what events are happening on what days. It is my goal to make sure that every student who comes to Hillel is well informed. I will also continue the work I began in 2003 in making sure the Hillel website is up to date and is informative.
I have the experience it takes to take on the job of secretary and to ensure that the job is done. It was an honor to serve as secretary before, and I would be honored to be given the opportunity to serve once again. On December 12, elect Dave Sideman to a second term as secretary.
